The Self-Determination Fund will be accepting applications from Traditional Owner groups in Victoria for Phases One and Two from 15 December 2023.

Step 1
Contact Us
Simply contact us to have a yarn about your Treaty aspirations and where you’re at in your Treaty journey.

Step 2
Complete Application Form
Eligible groups will be sent an application form to complete outlining the proposed activities and budget for forming treaty aspirations or pre-treaty preparation.

Step 3
Application Received and Considered
The Trustee will contact applicants to discuss outcomes and next steps, usually within 5 weeks of application submission.

Step 4
Grant/Auspice Agreement
Complete grant agreement or Auspice agreement.

Share
Conduct your Treaty readiness activities and share the outcomes with the Fund.
Application Question Areas
The following four question areas will be asked on your group’s application:
Tell us about the activities your Traditional Owner group intend to conduct to support your Treaty readiness journey
Tell us about who will be involved and included in these activities at a community level
When does your Traditional Owner group intend to start these activities and how long do you estimate it will take
Please share with us other resources that are available to you outside of the Self-Determination Fund that you intend to use to support these activities

Application Timeline
Applications are accepted year-round. Our team works with you to finalise your submission, this generally takes around four weeks. The fully completed submission is then presented to the Board for approval.
